Fall Rock School is one of our club's most popular events... and with good reason!
Every year we gather up some of our most experienced climbers to host a two-day outdoor climbing course at N.B.'s tallest cliffs. Absolutely no prior experience is necessary. For many people, Rock School is their first time tying into a rope.
The weekend will teach the basics in movement and technique on some of the best routes in the area. You'll also learn about basic equipment, knots, belaying, and how to rappel.
UNB Rock & Ice will provide all the rock gear and the instruction. You'll need to bring food, lots of water, camping gear, and warm clothes.
The climbing is 40 minutes south of Fredericton in Welsford. Transportation is usually never an issue and we coordinate a carpool.
Space is very limited since we try to keep the student/instructor ratio very low. Rock School is open to any member of the community but club members always get a deal and early registration. We fill up and have a waiting list every year so register as soon as it opens!
Rock School is a great weekend! Contact us if you're interested.
